Director

Vision360 Partners is seeking a Director of Strategic Communications to join our team. We are a privately held, non-partisan, medium-sized strategic communications firm, seeking a mid-level professional to support our public affairs, crisis and litigation communication clients.

Vision360 Partners boasts a track record and client roster that spans close to 30 years and covers state and federal policy and regulatory battles across many sectors, including financial services, healthcare, technology, transportation, energy and more. The agency also ranks among the few with deep experience in litigation support and crisis management. Our litigation communications work supports top law firms and corporations across the country in high profile matters. This new team member can expect to work across all our lines of business.

What We’re Looking For

Ideal candidates are self-starters with the ability to grasp complex subject matters and communicate quickly and strategically. Candidates should have strong writing and research skills, media relations experience, management experience, and the ability to formulate effective communication strategies and messages for public affairs and/or crisis and litigation clients.

At least seven (7) years of professional (full-time employment) experience is required. Prior work experience at another strategic communications agency, in the legislative or executive branches of a state or the federal government, at a law firm or in a litigation communications role, in politics or journalism is strongly preferred.

Key qualifications in candidates for this mid-level role:

  • Prior experience in developing and advising clients on communications strategy and execution: developing messaging and content across channels, including social media; monitoring emerging issues; and helping clients communicate effectively with key audiences. Also work with agency leadership in helping clients stay ahead of their issues, make recommendations, and manage the execution of client work.
  • Leadership within integrated communications campaigns: developing and executing issue advocacy (legislative/regulator), crisis (legal/reputation), and digital campaigns shaping narratives and engaging target audiences.
  • Earned media expertise: pitching reporters, cultivating media relationships, rapid response, booking interviews, and placing op-eds.  
  • Alliance development/coalition building: identifying, recruiting and activating allied third party experts (individuals and organizations) or prior experience working on a multi-stakeholder issue advocacy coalitions.  
  • Managing team work flows: assist in the day-to-day management of client work and account teams, ensuring work is assigned, written products are professional quality and error free and all work is executed with care and precision.

All team members in the DMV area work from the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the rest of the days from home. We provide home office equipment.

We offer competitive compensation, generous paid time off that can grow with tenure, extended time off around the holidays, a 100% 401(k) match, and fully paid family leave. The salary range for this position is based on prior experience and ranges between $85,000 and $120,000+.  Vision360 Partners compensation also includes a discretionary year-end bonus.
